Diet Plans
There are numerous diet plans formulated for years now. With so many of them available and all of them claiming to be effective in weight loss and healthy living, how can a person possible pick the right one that will work best on him/her? There are so many diet options developed for possibly every body type to fit every possible lifestyle.
There seem to be a list of the top 20 diet plans ever made and yet every expert's got his/her own version of the list. Organic dieting is an increasingly popular method of not only losing weight, but improving overall wellness. There are diets that celebrities swear upon, and to name a few of them, we have The South Beach Diet, The Cambridge Diet, The Weight Watcher Diet, The Mediterranean Diet, The Atkins Diet, the Buddhist Diet, and the Acai Berry Diet.
With the plethora of variety of diet plans available and accesible to almost anybody these days, the big resounding question now is 'Which diet is best for me?" It is strongly advised that a person should first consult his/her regular physician before entering and starting on a new diet plan. There are three most common category of diet plans and these are the hight protein diets, the high carbohydrate diets and then the other diets.
The high proten diet is not commended for people who are on a weight loss goal. A prolonged duration on this diet may lead to high blood due to the depletion of calcium, magnesium and potassium in the body. With the guidance of a physician and a nutritionist, this is often the diet followed by bodybuilders. An example of this diet plan is the Atkins Diet.
The Bread for Life Diet is an example of a high carbohydrate diet plan. The theory on this is that diets where the consumption of carbohydrates are high causes the levels of serotonin to increase thus, proportionally increasing the metabolism which would help in weight loss. This is altogether the oposite to the Atkins Diet which notes that low carbohydrate but hight protein diet results to weight loss.
Most physicians agree that the most effective diet plan is a balance of mixed healthy foods and that moderation is actually the key. A good example of this is the Mediterranean Diet which is loaded with vegetables, fruits, fish, cereals, legumes, olive oil and even a portion of red wine. Although physicians may advocate on certain diet plans, it is however always recommended that healthy eating should be made into a lifestyle rather than just a passing measure or fad and should always be coupled with exercise.
